Champaign, Ill. - Lindsey Moore scored a game-high 20 points and Jordan Hooper produced her 10th double-double of the year with 12 points and a career-high 16 rebounds to lead the No. 19 Nebraska women's basketball team a 67-47 win atIllinois on Sunday afternoon.
With the victory, Nebraska improved to 18-3 overall and 7-2 in the Big Ten by notchingits fourth Big Ten road win. Illinois slipped to 7-15 overall and 1-8 in the conference.
Hooper had the worst shooting game of her young career, going just 4-of-24 from the field and just 1-of-12 from three-point range. Despite her poor shooting day, Hooper still contributed in a big way with a career high on the boards for the second straight game after grabbing 15 rebounds in Thursday's win over Iowa.The 6-2 sophomore forward from Alliance, Neb.,added three steals.
Freshman Emily Cady pitched in 17 points and five rebounds on 4-of-7 shooting from the field and a perfect 8-for-8 game at the free throw line. The 6-2 forward from Seward, Neb., added an assist while hitting her lone three-point attempt of the game.
Nebraska returns to Big Ten road action on Thursday, when the Huskers take on conference-leading Purdue in West Lafayette, Ind. Tip-off between the Huskers and the No. 13 Boilermakers is set for 5 p.m. (mountain) with live radio coverage on AM 1400, KCOW.
