The Box Butte County election results for the May 13, 2008 Nebraska Primary Election was official at 7:56 p.m. -- some 56 minutes after the polls closed.
Only 1,193 people cast ballots, which equates to a voter turnout of 15 percent.
There were no local issues or offices to for citizens to cast ballots, which contributed to the low voter turnout.
There were not enough candidates who filed for office to justify a primary and those running for Alliance City Council, Alliance School Board, Hemingford School Board and Box Butte County Commissioner automatically advance to the November 4 General Election.
