The Hemingford Ledger is reporting that the Hemingford village Board accepted the resignation of Police Chief Mark Lindburg Tuesday night. The Board accepted the resignation letter after going into executive session with village attorney Adam Edmund.
Officer Forrest Hickman, who presented the resignation letter to the board, is the town's only remaining officer and was given approval to use part-time help as needed in the interim. That help will likely come from the Alliance Police Department as well as the Box Butte County Sheriff's Office.
The board will now begin advertising for a new police chief.
