Patricia E. "Patty" Martin, 55, went to meet her precious Lord Jesus on Sunday, April 27, 2008, at Good Samaritan Healthcare Center.
Patty was born May 14, 1952, at St. Joseph's Hospital at Alliance, to Loyd and Wilma (Hansen) Knaub. Patty attended school through her junior year of high school at Alliance. The family moved to Scottsbluff in 1969, and Patty graduated from Scottsbluff High in 1970.
Patty was married to Terry Frohman on Dec. 29, 1971, at Alliance, and to that union a son Shonn Andrew was born. In 1973 Patty was married to Terry Martin. To that union a son was born Corey Lynn Martin.
In the late 70s, Patty and her boys moved to Torrington, Wyo., where they resided until 1997, when Patty moved back to Alliance. Although life handed Patty some very difficult circumstances, she loved life and could always find joy. Patty loved to do ceramics and collect angels, teddy bears and cats. Although reading the Lord's word became an impossibility, she found a way through friends and media. Patty's smile was contagious and she brought joy to those around her. She felt very loved by the many nice people at Good Samaritan.
Patty is survived by her sons, Shonn (Paula) Martin of Minatare, and Corey (Rachel) Martin of Denver, Colo. She also is survived by her mother, Wilma Knaub of Alliance; sisters Lois (Dan) Robertson and Connie (Charles) Kelley of Alliance; brothers Dwight (Mitzi) Knaub of Alliance and Mike (Val) Knaub of Lincoln; uncles and aunts Betty Ann Moeller, Barb Hansen, Gordon and Joyce DeLaBarre, Bob and Carla Smith, Dennis and Pat Hansen, John and Connie Hansen, Carmen Knaub and Elsie Wernsman; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Patty was preceded in death by an infant sister, her dad, uncles, Frank Moeller, Paul Hansen, Larry Wernsman and Fred Knaub, and grandparents Carl and Jessie Hansen and Mike and Lydia Knaub.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, May 2, at the First Christian Church, where Patty loved to fellowship. Pastor Walter Cline will officiate. Burial will be in the Hemingford Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent in care of her mother, Wilma Knaub, 424 Lane 3, Good Samaritan Village, Alliance, Nebraska, 69301.
