Ronald G. DeBoer, 62, died Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at his home in Alliance.

Ronald was born February 15, 1946 at Watertown, South Dakota to Malvin and Lola (Euckert) DeBoer.

He served in the United States Army from 1964 through 1966. He married Sandy Phillips on December 2, 1976 at Hot Springs, South Dakota. They had 3 children, Monty, Rona, and Kim.

Ronald had a great love for ranching and had many fond memories from time spent working on area ranches. He also enjoyed the travels that came along with truck driving cross country. He was an avid fisherman, but what he enjoyed most was spending time with family, especially his grandchildren whom he loved to tease. Ronald was a very generous and kind man who had a great sense of humor and never ran out of good stories to tell.

He is survived by his children, Monty DeBoer of Grand Island, Nebraska, Rona (Dennis) Quick, and Kim (Justin) Eggers, all of Alliance, Shane DeBoer of Bellevue, Washington, Jodi DeBoer of Seattle, Washington, and Shelly Garrick of Reno, Nevada. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; his brother, Randy (Marlene) DeBoer of South Dakota; and his sister, Bonnie (Gary) Gerth of Utah; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be held Friday, July 25, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Bates-Gould Chapel with Reverend Doug Griger officiating. Online condolences may be left at http://www.batesgould.com/
