Rose Mary Krotz was born on July 20, 1924 northwest of Rushville, Nebraska to Anton and Anna (Vodicka) Krotz.
She passed away on September 1, 2010 at Pioneer Manor in Hay Springs.
She was the youngest of seven children. She graduated from Rushville High School in 1942. She taught several years in rural schools. She married Frank Edward Kuskie, Jr on December 28, 1946. To this union, six children were born; Jean Marie, Lawrence Edward, Charles Robert, Janet Ann, Joann Elizabeth, and Joyce Elaine. Rose Mary served as a 4-H leader and Bible School and Sunday school teacher for many years as her family grew. She loved reading, sewing, crossword puzzles, playing cards, and being with her family and friends. She will always be remembered for her strong faith, love of family, quiet strength, amazing warmth, and her sense of humor. Her ever present smile and kind words will be missed by all who knew her.
Rose Mary was preceded in death by her daughter Janet, her husband Frank, her parents, and her brothers and sisters; she is survived by her children Jeanie and Ronnie Snyder, Larry and Donna Kuskie, Charlie and Deb Kuskie, Joann and Jim Miller, Joyce and Kevin Meredith, eleven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at St. Mary's Holly Church 10 miles north of Rushville, with Pastor James Krotz officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Holly Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 3, 2010 at Chamberlain Drabbels Mortuary in Hay Springs at 7:00 PM.
