The Lincoln Pius X Thunderbolts ended the Alliance Boy's basketball season with a 52-49 victory during the first round of the state tournament. The game was played at the Devaney Center in Lincoln.
Pius led 12-11 at the end of the first quarter, but Alliance came back and took a 22-20 lead at halftime.
Pius outscored Alliance 21-10 to take a 41-32 lead entering the fourth quarter.
Alliance dominated the fourth quarter, outscoring Pius 17-11, but missed a three-point buzzer shot that could have tied the game.
The Bulldogs finish the season with a record of 13 wins and 11 losses. Pius, now 16 and 6, will meet Elkhorn in the semifinals Friday.
