The Alliance Volunteer Fire Department (AVFD) held its Bosses Night Dinner February 3 to honor the bosses of employees who are volunteer firefighters.
Earl Jones, employed by the Alliance Public Schools, nominated Supt. of Schools Dr. Dan Hoesing. Other firefighters also nominated their bosses, and following a vote, AVFD members selected Hoesing as boss of the year for his bridge-building between APS and the AVFD.
Other awards presented Friday night included Nick Hinman as Veteran of the Year and Dan Perkins as Rookie of the Year.
