A former Morrill County Mustang Outpost owner who was imprisoned for the the malnourishment and death of horses and burros placed in his care has been released from prison.
Jason Charles Meduna, 45, was released with discretionary parole on December 6th. He was serving time for 145 counts of cruel neglect of an animal resulting in serious bodily injury or death. Meduna was sentenced to an imprisonment of 20 to 60 months with probation eligible after the 20 months.
Meduna served a little more than 21 months in prison. Meduna's sentence also bars him from owning or associating with livestock sources for 30 years.
In April 2009, more than 200 mustangs, horses, and burros were removed from the Three Strikes Ranch located south of Alliance.
